Events : MAC Picnic - 2005

Sweltering heat and humidity did not prevent 230 people from participating in the 4th Annual Family Picnic organized by the Mangalorean Association of Canada on June 25, 2005. The Meadowvale Conservation Park with its gazebo, shady trees and calm waters was the perfect venue for an outdoor event. Enthusiastic children, eager adults and excited seniors shared in the fun and games wholeheartedly.

To the pulsating resonance of Punjabi music, Reggae, Hip Hop and the mellifluous strains of the waltz and jive, 450 people danced and celebrated at the Annual Family Social organized by the Mangalorean Association of Canada. The third family social held at the Grand Taj Banquet and Convention Center, Mississauga was an exceptional accomplishment with a fusion of activities, music and games for the young and old.

Events : First MAC Youth Meet - February 2005

Since its inception, one of MAC's dominant objectives was to provide opportunities for and extend programs and camps for youth. With this in mind, the first Youth Meet was planned, organized and implemented on February 20, 2005 at the South Common Community Centre, Mississauga. An enthusiastic and energetic group of 32 youth ranging from 13 to 25 years participated in this gathering. The evening began with introductions by Mr. Reynold Sequeira, Secretary of the Youth Forum. Miss Priyanka D'Souza delivered a succinct and motivating prayer that set the mood for the evening.

Events : Tsunami Disaster Relief - An Appeal

The Earth took a disastrous turn for the worse on the day after Christmas, 2004 and life in the South East Asian region will never be the same. The Tsunami has inflicted economic losses in billions of dollars, the number of dead is still rising, millions are homeless, the ranks of the wounded are huge and the spectres of disease hangs large over a vast population. The need is HUGE, the time is NOW. Together lets make a difference so that the victims of this enormous catastrophe can look forward to a future!
