The walls of Sangeet Banquet Hall, Etobicoke reverberated with toe tapping and hip swinging music and the cheers of over 500 guests as MAC concluded another successful social event. The second Family Social organized by the Mangalorean Association of Canada was held on May 1, 2004.

With a warm welcome, the guests were ushered to well-organized seating arrangements and a sumptuous array of hors d'oeuvres. The evening progressed from a summation of the events in 2003 to some unique music by Naked Flame, the band/DJ for the evening. Irrespective of age, the young and old swayed and danced while abandoning all inhibitions and indulging in pure pleasure and a stress-free evening. The Family Social provided the guests with an opportunity to display tradition, meet family and friends and participate in fine conversation and food. MAC, with a firm purpose and mandate, catered to the ''family'' and structured fun activities and games for children, teenagers and young adults. Leanne Rodrigues, Aneka Ramchandani, Samantha Mendes, Debbie Fernandes and Manisha Pedenti demonstrated remarkable vitality, confidence and spirit with their special dance performed to the catchy tune of 'Sharara sharara'. The emcee, Ivan D'Lima, ensured that the evening and festivities did not lag and motivated the guests to join in with well-timed jokes.

Fr. Edwin D'Souza, St. Martha and Mary Church, Mississauga offered thanks to the Lord for His blessings and wished MAC greater success in all their endeavors. The buffet was delicious ending with the traditional dessert, ''gulab jamun''. There were abundant table and raffle prizes and the winners took home a huge Karaoke set, a Television, a DVD player and many more.

MAC expresses its genuine gratitude to the guests who attended the Family Social and made its success possible. MAC recognizes and appreciates the collaboration, support and assistance of the evenings' well-wishers and sponsors.
