Clear, sunny skies! Balmy temperatures! Dewy green grass and gentle breezes! It was a perfect day for a picnic. The Mangalorean Association of Canada (MAC) did an encore and organized their 2nd annual picnic on June 21, 2003 at the Meadowvale Conservation Park. The attendance was stupendous.

The 'fun in the sun day' had activities for all age groups. The Relay games, Passing the Hat, Dog and the Bone, Musical Chairs and other games were well structured and an enthusiastic crowd participated whole heartedly. The senior's joined in the games planned for them with memorable spirit and eagerness. Prizes were awarded to the winners. Participants also walked away with tokens in appreciation for their involvement in the various activities.

The traditional potluck lunch, blessed by Rev. Fr. Edwin D'Souza, Pastor of St. Martha and Mary Church, Mississauga, was a gastronomic delight. The repast was followed by a singsong session and a Bingo game. The evening concluded with gate prizes galore and a long dance session accompanied by lively music.

The main sponsor for the day was Western Union Financial Services International Inc.. The other sponsors were Henriques Financial and Raitech Electric Services & Sales Inc.. Maxim Mendes of Homelife Real Estate Services, Francis D'Souza of Sons of Thunder - Martial Arts and Fitness Inc., and Tom Varghese of Admiral Tours and Travels, donated gifts. MAC thanks them all for their support and generosity.

MAC appreciates the extraordinary hard work and commitment by all its members to ensure the success of the Annual Picnic.
