Our first Family Social was held on Saturday, May 3, 2003 at the Royal Banquet Hall, Mississauga, Ontario. We received an overwhelming response from hundreds of Mangaloreans residing in Toronto. Tickets were sold out well in advance as the community was anxiously looking forward to this event.

The fun filled evening commenced with a welcome song in Konkani. Fr. Edwin D'Souza from St. Martha and Mary Church in Mississauga did the 'Lighting of the Lamp', a tradition symbolizing our culture. Melwyn Menezes welcomed the guests and gave a brief history of our group. He presented a summary of our past activities and plans for the future. MAC logo/banner was then unveiled and this website was officially launched. Activities of the evening included gate prizes, spot prizes, games for children, dances for all age groups and the 'Novelty Special'. The evening concluded with the traditional 'Baila' performed by Oliver Sequeira and his troupe. The program was compered by the well-known Ivan D'Lima and DJ for the evening was Leo Machado.
We express our sincere gratitude to the entire Mangalorean community, well wishers, sponsors and donors for their co-operation and support in making this event such a grand success.

Please patronize our sponsors.
